The SAFP is committed to ensuring that football players receive the best possible support in combining study with sport. For this purpose, an international group of universities has joined forces. The results will be improved and refined with the EU under the Erasmus programme. The programme will be launched in 2020.

Only 13% of active footballers in Europe have higher education qualifications -- compared to 53% of men in the European Union, according to FIFPro research.
